Rx Lettuce.

Will I keep my bunny sanity for the duration of the course, if formatting the last post was typical? There is no 'pen' icon now to allow a simple 'Edit', and the text has kept the format from an old 'Word' file, and refuses to be changed. At least it is my beloved 'Baskerville', but this will not show, probably, on most screens. I shall take some lettuce for lunch, to calm me down, and think nice thoughts, for to-day's ceremony. Sir Thomas ke Jai!

Reflections, edged in black.

What have I learned this week? Inventions introduce ugly ‘jargon’, but t’was ever thus. The ‘blogger.com’ web-site is easy to use, but some of the symbols need exploring further when I have more time, and I must find out how to arrange my pictures more attractively. “Blogs” (or, ‘Bunny Logs’) can be used for different purposes, so their content will vary. For example, if one is an Ambulance Driver, Prostitute, or Soldier, one can use them to tell the world about your exciting life!

For libraries, writing a ‘blog’ is an excellent way of contacting those readers whose lives revolve around their micro-computer, but the format seems more suited to unstructured writings. A fake informality, with a masaala of ‘stream-of-consciousness’ diary entries, is not helpful to readers looking for specific advice. It would be better to put routine notices about new books, shelf-changes, meetings, etc., under dedicated headings on the library’s web-site no more than a click away; emergencies should be on the library’s front page. Just make sure you do not forget to put notices on the library notice boards, leave messages on the telephone answering machine, send telexes and bunnygrams, etc., for those who care to look up from computer screens.

Perhaps readers wish to hear the latest ‘gup’ and ramblings from the cutting edge of information provision. What is there to say? To-day is the 397th anniversary of sir Thomas Bodley’s death, may his grave be forever fragrant. We bunnies will be having a small ceremony, which marks also the first Cadbury’s Cream Egg of the season: photographs to follow. It is 25 Deg. C. and hazy in Calcutta, and 12.35 in Teheraan. On this chill, damp, day, let us look forward to summer, with an old holiday snap from my cousin Amisha Bunny. Time for a bunny cuddle now.

I keep forgetting to add the ‘Tags’ to my diary entries. Sigh. Perhaps I could add a class-mark to each as well. At least it was easy to register my web log on the ‘23 Things Oxford’ form. Must ask my bunny chum Govinder about Colon Classification schedules. Here she is, helping put new bar-codes into a Monographic Series being re-classified, with the aid of her sword. Here is another photograph of us playing in the snow. Except it "Uploaded" in the wrong order.
Here's my own Google home page. I am a Bengali Bunny, so Calcutta will always be in my heart...
I am participating in this course to learn about things that are both new, and help communicate with our readers. In addition, I hope to spread bunny niceness and cuddles to everyone, and keep in touch with my bunny friends at the Seaside Hospital Library. Will it be any easier than a notice-board, teleprinter, or pleasing sheet of quality writing paper? I hope to find out, but do not expect to discard my quills and inks yet... The ‘I Google’ screen refuses to display multiple time zones at once, so I might as well just use the clock in the bottom right of my screen. However, I can see the B.B.C. news headlines without going to the B.B.C. web-site, practice my yoga, and do a Sudoku puzzle. What fun!
